Commercial Wind Power Systems

Types of Commercial Wind Power Systems

Performance

  • 10 Kw System - 600- 2,000 Kilowatt-hours per month (depending on wind rescource).

This system does not provide back-up power during utility power outages. It automatically shuts off to protect the safety of utility repair crews.

Recommended for:

  • Homes or businesses that use at least 1,000 kWh's per month.
  • Property sizes of 1 acre or more
  • Wind Class 2 or higher

We recommend this package for most homeowners and small businesses.  The 10 kW Excel-S wind turbine with the Powersync power processor costs less than a BWC HomeSure system and provides the most favorable economics.  Excess energy is sold to the utility company or "stored" by utilities offering net metering.

Performance

  • 400 - 1,500 Kilowatt-hours (kWh's) per month (depending on wind resource), 24 hours to over a week of back-up power (depending on load and wind).

This system contains batteries and can provide essential household power during power outages.

Recommended for:

  • Areas where power outages are a problem.
  • Large homes or businesses that use at least 800 kWh's per month.
  • Property sizes of 1 acre or more.
  • Wind Class 2 or higher.

We recommend this package for homeowners and small businesses that want protection from extended power outages. This capability requires the addition of batteries and more sophisticated inverters.

Performance

  • Large remote homes or facilities, using at least 700 kWh per month.
  • Locations where delivering or storing diesel fuel is a problem.
  • Retrofit to existing diesel-only power system to provide 24-hour power availability.
  • Wind Class 2 or higher.

This system contains batteries and is typically used in conjunction with a back-up generator (gasoline, propane, or diesel fuel). These systems are modular and can be expanded easily.

Recommended for:

We recommend this package for village power and larger remote home and facilities that need more than 500 kWh's of alternating current (AC) energy per month. These systems are often retrofitted to existing diesel-only systems in order to save fuel and provide 24-hour power.

Performance

  • 750 - 1,800 Kilowatt-hours (kWh's) per month (depending on wind and solar resources).

Hybrid wind & solar systems provide more consistent year-round performance and reduce the need for back-up generation.

This system provides more consistent year-round renewable energy production.  These systems are modular and can be expanded easily.

Recommended for:

  • Large remote home, large facility, or small community , using at least 900 kWh per month.
  • Locations where delivering or storing diesel fuel is a problem.
  • Retrofit to existing diesel-only power system to provide up to 24-hour power availability.
  • Wind Class 2 or higher.

We recommend this package for larger remote homes, facilities, or communities that need more than 700 kWh's of alternating current (AC) energy per month. These systems can be retrofitted to existing diesel-only systems in order to save fuel and provide 24-hour/day power.

Aspen Electric offers several types of commercial-scale wind turbine systems for small businesses. Over the next 10 years a typical small business will pay $18,000 to over $50,000 in electric bills, at rates that often increase faster than inflation. When you choose a wind system you take the same monthly expense and invest it in a tangible asset. Once your turbine is paid off, you will enjoy more money in your pocket every month for the next 20 – 40 years.

We offer several different kinds of systems rated for large mansion-like homes and small businesses. Our most popular is the standard 10 Kilowatt system, but we also offer systems with battery backup power, off grid systems, and hybrid systems that utilize both wind and solar.
